What should I do after receiving my Ethiopia e-Visa?
As the eVisa will be sent to the applicant’s email address in PDF format, you should download and print it out. When traveling to Ethiopia, please remember to bring at least two printouts of your Ethiopian electronic visa with you.
Although the eVisa is automatically linked to your passport, the Immigration Officer at the border checkpoint will ask you to show your valid visa and passport to permit you to enter the country. Currently, you are allowed to enter Ethiopia through Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) or land border crossings.
As soon as you land at Addis Abeba Bole International Airport, proceed to the immigration line designated for people with e-Visas. Have your passport, e-visa, and any additional supporting documents prepared.
The Immigration Officer will check your Ethiopia electronic visa and stamp your passport. The last thing you should do is relax on your trip to Ethiopia.
An important note is that the passport you use to apply for an eVisa and the one you use to travel to Ethiopia must be the same. This passport is valid for at least 06 months from the arrival date in Ethiopia.
In case you use an expired passport, the Officer will have the right to deny your entry into the border.
